Callaghan Park

2010 California Parks & Recreation Society Park Planning & Design Award Winner
 
Located in the heart of Watsonville, Callaghan Park is an integral part of the city park system with mature trees, open grass areas, themed play areas, picnicking, basketball courts, tennis courts, and the Cultural Community Center. SSA approached the renovation with safety, circulation, and maintenance in mind, relocating activities into age-specific areas, providing clear sight-lines, adding pedestrian lighting, and locating seating throughout the park. Since re-opening on Easter 2010, the park has seen record-high attendance, receiving more the 300 visitors per day!
