Stevens Creek Corridor Restoration and Trail

SSA worked with the City of Cupertino as the lead design consultant on the Stevens Creek Trail and associated peripheral improvements in connecting this unique trail to Mountain View and ultimately to the San Francisco Bay.

The paved multi-use trail is used for bicycling, walking, and interpretive education. SSA's work included the design of the trail, a bridge crossing over Stevens Creek, a passage through a historic orchard, creek reconstruction, a paved multi-use trail for bicycling, walking, and interpretive education, and a terminus to the trail. This terminus serves as the Cupertino trail head to the Stevens Creek trail. The sensitive riparian corridor is now protected through careful trail alignment and by providing key view corridors to the creek from the trail to minimize trail off-shoots. Interpretive signage along the trail directs users to various focal points of interest.
