Conceptual Design

The conceptual design phase is when we begin to put visions and ideas in the program into a design. The conceptual designs are done quickly and hand rendered on trace overlays. This helps keep design costs down while allowing the client to explore different design solutions for the program before going into master planning or detailed design. At this phase, we will also prepare a construction cost estimate with as much detail as possible. The cost estimate helps us make sure the project is in line with the budget established in the previous phase. If necessary, the design can be modified during this phase to meet the budget or used to adjust the budget. During the schematic design phase, we meet with you several times to collaborate on ideas and garner consensus on the design direction.
