The Abbott Street Primecare Center is a business complex in downtown Salinas, California with the goal of achieving a LEED Core Shell Certification. SSA was selected by WRD Architects to serve as the site design lead, coordinating with the Architect, Civil Engineer, Electrical Engineer, and City staff in the final design concept. Sustainable design components such as bio-swales, a native plant palette, a low-flow irrigation system, use of recycled materials, and a reduction in the ‘heat island effect’ were successfully implemented into the final design package.
