SSA was hired by the Los Altos Library Endowment and the Santa Clara County Library District to develop a new outdoor courtyard adjacent to the Los Altos Library. The site is located on the north side of the Library facing the Historic Orchard. SSA facilitated engagement of all stakeholders with a process of collaborative meetings/workshops to develop a final conceptual plan that was acceptable to the City of Los Altos, Los Altos Library Endowment, Santa Clara County Library District and stakeholders. The project consists of one courtyard that will share an enclosed area of about 6,000 square feet. The courtyard will be accessed through the existing exit door on the north side of the building and will function as outdoor gathering spaces for various activities including receptions, informal gatherings, outdoor education, and other events associated with the library and community for all.
