Josh grew up in Hawaii and has spent the majority of his career on Maui, so he’s very familiar with the islands — both as a place to work and a place to live. He has formed many lasting relationships within the Maui community and stays deeply involved. Josh is the kind of guy who actually enjoys sitting on boards and commissions. He is currently VP on the Board of Directors for La'akea Village in Paia and a member of the Maui Planning Commission, and he previously chaired the Urban Design Review Board (yes, on purpose). When he's not untangling entitlements or working on a design project, you'll find him about as far from a screen as possible — out in his olive orchard, paddling his canoe, or generally anywhere outside that doesn't have wifi.
Josh brings to SSA years of project and development management experience from his roles with developers and landscape architecture firms, where he's been responsible for successful project execution, quality control, and leading consultant teams. His background as a Land Use Planner means permitting, entitlements, and reviewing agencies hold little mystery for him — expertise he's now applying as SSA grows its footprint in Hawaii. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Landscape Architecture from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, is a licensed Landscape Architect in both California and Hawaii, and is a LEED Accredited Professional.
